MacFARLAND, SHIRLEY V. - The death of Shirley V. MacFarland of Clifton Royal, widow of David L. MacFarland, occurred Friday, February 23rd, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was born in Saint John, daughter of the late Alvin Currie and Annie Lee. Shirley was Post Master at Clifton Royal, retiring in 1994. She was the organist at All Saints Church, Clifton Royal and Trinity Church, Kingston, for thirty years. Shirley was a member of Mission and Outreach, Vestry and A.C.W. with the Parish of Kingston. She sang with the Parish of Kingston Singers and the Sea Belles. Shirley was a Director of Trinity Terrace and Director of Peninsula Ambulance. She was a Past President of Peninsula Pearls and a member of the Kingston Friendship Group. Shirley is survived by three daughters, Elaine Fleming (James), Jacqueline Todd (Pastor Mark Todd), Patricia Sparks (Gary), all of Clifton Royal; one son, David A. MacFarland (Cindy), Clifton Royal; two sisters, Audrey Sheardown (Terrance), Winnipeg, Constance Buckley, Bayswater; one brother, Alvin Currie, Bayswater; 13 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one daughter, Margaret Douthwright; and two sisters, Anna MacFarland and Dorothy Blatchford. Resting at Reid's Funeral Home (832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB, with visitation from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm Sunday, February 25th, 2007. The funeral will be held Monday, February 26th, 2007 at 11:00am at Trinity Church, Kingston, NB, with the Rev'd Bonita LeBlanc officiating. Interment in All Saints Cemetery, Clifton Royal.
