DONALD ALISON KELLEY

KELLEY, DONALD ALISON - The death of Mr. Donald Alison Kelley of Rothesay, N.B. occurred on March 1st, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on February 8th, 1934 in Saint John he was the son of the late Helen (Nellie) Condon Kelley. Don worked for the Department of National Revenue for 27 years, retiring in February 1994. Don was the President of the Adanac Association from 1984-1999 and continued to be an active member of the Adanac until moving to Rothesay in February 2006. Don loved to sing and was in the Gold Miner's quartet in his early years. Don was a great athlete and enjoyed basketball, baseball, curling, bowling, horseshoes and darts. Playing crib with the guys from the Adanac was a definite highlight for Don. He is survived by his son Patrick (Giselle) Kelley of Rothesay; daughter Alison (Rod) Adams of Rothesay; son Kevin (Bev) Kelley of Saint John; and their mother June (Thompson) Kelley of Rothesay; brother Gerry (Sylvia) Kelley of Langley, B.C.; four grandchildren Kory Adams, Katelyn Adams, Kyle Adams and Brendan Kelley; several nieces, nephews and many friends. He was predeceased by his mother, granddaughter Kristy Dawn Adams brothers Earle (Peggy), Ronald (Lou), Bernard (Rita) and Norbert; sisters Helen (Lloyd) Fulton and Shirley (Harry) Doherty. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Rd (646-2424) with visitations on Saturday March 3rd, 2007 from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral services will be on Monday March 5th, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel. Memorial donations in memory of Don can be made to the Diabetes Association, Canadian Cancer Society or to the Palliative Care Unit at the SJRH.
