PELKEY, GWENDOLYN JOAN - The death of Gwendolyn J. Pelkey of Aroostook occurred on March 4, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital at the age of 70. Born on December 5, 1936 in Aroostook to the late Harry and Faye (Taylor) Sisson. She resided and attended school in Perth. She married Harold Pelkey on March 27, 1954 and moved to Aroostook. She was a devoted mother of seven. Gwendolyn is survived by her husband, Harold Pelkey; two daughters, Terri (Alan) McLaughlin of Carlingford and Valerie Guimont and her companion, John Innis of Grand Falls; five sons, Stephen (Marilyn) Pelkey of Grenfell, Sask., Blair (Pierrette) Pelkey of Grand Falls, Ross Pelkey and his companion, Lynn Drisdelle of Miramichi, Glenn (Veronica) Pelkey of Fredericton and Shaun (Shelley) Pelkey of Fredericton; 18 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; many family and friends. Predeceased by her parents; brother, Graydon Sisson; sister, Linda Sisson; and grandson, Kendall Pelkey. Resting at St. James United Church, Perth-Andover with visiting hours on Tuesday, March 6th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 7th at 2 pm from the church with Rev. Helene Burns officiating. Interment in the Presbyterian Cemetery later in the spring.
