LETA BERNICE WAUGH
WAUGH, LETA BERNICE - It is with saddened hearts the family of Leta Bernice Waugh, wife of the late Theodore Waugh, wish to announce her passing under the compassionate care of the staff of the William Duffy Unit at the Oromocto Public Hospital on Saturday, March 24, 2007. Leta was born on January 1, 1914 in New Caanan, New Brunswick, the daughter of the late Charlie and Cora (Humphery's) Clarke. Leta is survived by her brother, Gestner (Francis) of Keirstead Mountain; her children, Richard (Judy) of Hanwell, Barbara (Barry Walton) of Kingston; her four grandsons, Richie (Stacey), Andrew (Amanda), Eric and Bradley (Jodi); three precious great granddaughters, Emma, Marley and Audrey; sister-in-laws, Faye and Gerry; and several nieces and nephews. Leta was predeceased by her sisters, Hazel (Mont) Thorne, Dorothy (Blois) Corey, Doreen (Doug) Thorne; and her brothers, Ralph (Muriel), Alvin and Myron. A graduate of the Provincial Normal School, Leta was a teacher and a mother. As a member of the Christ Church Cathedral congregation, she was involved with the ACW, Friendship Guild and Altar Guild. Leta was the honorary Vice President of the Governor Carleton Chapter of the IODE and was involved as a volunteer in many charitable organization in the community. Her care and compassion serves as an inspiration to her family and all those lives she touched. There will be no visitation by request. A Memorial Service will be held at Christ Church Cathedral Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at 2 pm with The Very Rev. Keith Joyce officiating. Interment will be at a later date in The Douglas Rural Cemetery. For those who wish a remembrance donation can be made to the Cathedral Restoration Fund or a charity of the donor's choice.
