HETTRICK, NELSON GILBERT - 83 of Woodwards Cove, Grand Manan Island, NB. Passed away at the Grand Manan Hospital Friday March 30th, 2007. Born in St. Catherine's ON, he was the son of the late Clarence and Clara Hettrick. Nelson served in the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1942-1945 and later moved to Grand Manan Island and worked as a fisherman then later as a Butcher at the Newton Store, he finished his working career at the Save Easy Grocery Store on Grand Manan where he was known and well liked by his many customers. He is survived by his wife, Theresa; one daughter, Colleen Patterson (Pat) of Musquodoboit Harbour, NS; one son, Chris Hettrick (Rhonda) of Deep Cove, NB; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren also one step-son, Glen. He was predeceased by his brother, Maurice. The family will receive friends and relatives for visiting at Ells Funeral Home on Sunday, April 1st, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will take place from the Grand Harbour United Baptist Church Monday April 2nd, 2007 at 1:30 pm with Rev. George Clark officiating. The internment is to follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery. There will be a reception following the service at the Immanuel Pentecostal Assembly in Woodwards Cove and all are welcome to attend for a time of fellowship and refreshments. The family has requested that donations may be made to the Ivan Green Scholarship Fund, the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the Charlotte County Cancer Society.
