Lloyd attended Fredericton public schools, Rothesay Collegiate, Royal Military College and graduated with a Bachelor in Civil Law from UNB in 1947. Lloyd married Ethel Saunderson in 1951 and for 56 years they built a life together in Fredericton. He was dedicated to his family and looked out for their well-being at all times. A keen canoeist, hunter and fisherman, he loved the woods and rivers of New Brunswick. Summers with his family at the camp on the Saint John River were the most treasured moments of his long life.
