MARGARET KNOX (NEE MONTGOMERIE) MASTERSON

MASTERSON, MARGARET KNOX (NEE MONTGOMERIE) - Passed away peacefully on Thursday April 5, 2007 at Toronto East General Hospital in her 82nd year. Born in New Bedford, Mass. USA, lived in England and Scotland prior to emigrating to Canada with her family in 1957. Loving wife of the late Ronald M. Masterson (1922-1993). Daughter of the late Lt. Col. James B.T. Montgomerie, MC, MM and Janet L. Semple. Adored Mother of John (Kaarina), James, Jeremy (Mary), and Montie (Marguerite). Proud Granny of nine grandchildren. Also survived by her sisters, Janet in Scotland, and Molly (Graeme) in P.E.I.; and sisters-in-law, Wendy, and Muriel in Scotland; along with numerous cousins, nephews and nieces in Canada, USA, Scotland, England, and Hong Kong. An Army Nurse at the end of WW2, she pursued a nursing career for much of her younger life. An accomplished professional fine artist, she studied at St. Andrews Art College in Scotland, worked for Valentines Greeting Cards in Dundee where she met Ron. They lived many happy years in Rothesay and St. Andrews, New Brunswick; Cape Cod, Massachusetts; and Oakville, Ontario. Thanks to the staff at True Davidson Acres in Toronto for their care and attention over the past several years. In lieu of flowers, the family will accept donations towards a scholarship for an art student. A private family gathering will be held on April 7th, with cremation to follow.
