THOMAS TRAER
TRAER, THOMAS - Mr. Thomas Traer of Queen St. in Chatham, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 21st, at the Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home at the age of 80. Tom was the youngest son of the late Albert and Laura (McLean) Traer. Tom was a member of St. Michael's parish and the Miramichi Golf and Country Club. He owned and operated Traer's Grocery in Chatham from 1958-1990. He is survived by his loving wife, Frances (Rigley) Traer; five children, Dorothy Nevin (Peter) of Miramichi, Debbie Kenna of Ottawa, Donna Muir (Stanley) of Chatham, Michael Traer (Karen) of Fredericton, Karen Power (Wayne) of Rothesay; twelve grandchildren, Danny Nevin of Chatham, Kristi Nevin of London, Ontario, Kimberly, Julie and Jennifer Kenna of Ottawa, Jackie Muir of Vancouver, Heather Muir of Fredericton, Matthew and Andrew Traer of Fredericton, Daniel, Thomas and Benjamin Power of Rothesay. He is predeceased by daughter, Marilyn; five brothers, George, Howard, Walter, Wilbur and Vincent; two sisters, Dorothy O'Reilly and Margaret Traer. Thomas Traer is resting at Maher's Funeral Home, Miramichi on Monday, April 23rd, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 24th, at 11am from St. Michael's Basilica with Fr. John Fraser officiating.
