DARLENE BEATRICE (HOWLAND) SNYDER
SNYDER, DARLENE BEATRICE (HOWLAND) - Surrounded by her family, Darlene Snyder went to be with her Lord on May 4th, 2007 after an extensive and courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease. Born on April 18th, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Bernus and Muriel Howland. Darlene was born in Marysville where she lived most of her life. She loved to travel and visited many places with her family and friends including Hawaii, Florida, South America, Tennessee, Antigua, the Dominican and most of Canada. Darlene worked as an office secretary for Rosser Sales and Equipment and Atlantic Rentals for many years and later was employed by Co-op Atlantic and Dobbelsteyns Service and Maintenance. Darlene retired at the age of 53 and lived with her daughter and family for several years until her care required that she move to Pine Grove where she was cared for by Pine Grove's wonderful staff and Dr. Ann Collins for the past 11 years. Darlene is survived by daughter, Angela Snyder and son-in law, Don Murray; as well as the sunshine of her life, granddaughters, Laura and Carolyn Murray. Darlene will be dearly missed by her entire family, especially her cousin, Barb Allen who was more like a sister to her. Also survived by aunts and uncles, Curtis Moore, Doug and Ruth Laws, Bessie and Joseph Howland; and by many other cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Darlene was predeceased by her husband, Carl Snyder (of Jacquet River) in 1987 following their trip to Venezuela; and two brothers, Dow and Merle Howland. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Monday, May 7th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 8th, 2007 at 2 pm from Olivet Wesleyan Church, Marysville, NB with Dr. Tom Ward officiating and Rev. Lona Johnston assisting. Interment will take place in the Olivet Wesleyan Church Cemetery. For those who wish, donations in Darlene's memory can be made to the Parkinson's Society Maritime Region (PSMR) or to the Pine Grove Nursing Home.
