MCLAUGHLIN, BERNARD W. - At the Grand Falls General Hospital, May 18, 2007, Mr. Bernard W. McLaughlin of Grand Falls Portage passed away at the age of 73 years. He was married to the former Eileen O'Hagan. Bernard was a caring, loving father and husband. After having spent many years farming, he also worked many years as an underground miner in Sudbury, Ontario at Inco. He was a very hard worker, an avid hunter and loved walking and spending time in the woods. Bernard could be found in the vegetable garden during the spring and summer. He grew beautiful vegetables and had a green thumb. He loved to see all his children and grandchildren when they came to visit. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Eileen (O'Hagan) McLaughlin; three sons, Danny of Toronto, Christopher of Grand Falls and Patrick of Toronto; six daughters, Maureen Lawson (Scott) of Toronto, Judy Griffith (Jim) of Robinson, PA, Janice McLaughlin (partner Rick Michaud) of Bangor, ME, Diane Tapp (Lloyd) and Darlene Clowes of Milbrook, Ontario and Rhonda Weeks (Brad) of Aurora, Ontario; 21 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one brother, Jasper of Ottawa; sister-in-law, Phyllis McLaughlin of Grand Falls; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by step brothers, Howard and Harold McLaughlin; and step sister, Pauline Gallagher. Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 12:30 to 2 p.m. His funeral will be held Monday, May 21st at 2 p.m. from St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Grand Falls Portage, with Father Curtis Sappier officiating.
