Bay St. Lawrence Dec. 6, 1951-April 22, 2008 We, the family of the late Raymond MacKinnon, 56, sadly announce the sudden passing of our dear brother on April 22, 2008, in Bay St. Lawrence. Born in Black Point, he was the son of the late Alex Dan and Katie Mae MacKinnon. He was a member of St. Margaret’s parish. Raymond was a hard worker, and a lifelong fisherman. He always gave a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him, especially Dollie, making his favourite dinners, and all of his family, friends, and dart buddies. Raymond is survived by his brothers, Yok (Carolyn), Fox Creek, Alta., Albert (Heather), Aspy Bay, Danny, Bay St. Lawrence; and sisters, Catherine (Danny), Baddeck, Cassie (Stewart), Port Hawkesbury, Wilma (Martin), Pictou, Janet (Frank), Meat Cove, Sadie (Kenneth), Meat Cove, Florence, Bay St. Lawrence, Joyce, Fox Creek, Alta., and Dollie, Aspy Bay. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by his ex-wife, Theresa; and mother-in-law, Mary Burton. There were two special people in Raymond’s life, his uncle Bucher and a special little boy (James). Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, George, Walter and Stewart and a sister, Mary. He was also predeceased by his father-in-law, Alex Burton, nephew, Graham, brother-in-law, Norman, and his companion, Rose MacKinnon. Visitation for Raymond MacKinnon will be held today (Friday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in St. Margaret’s parish centre, St. Margaret’s Village. The funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, April 26 at 11 a.m. in St. Margaret’s Church, with Fr. William MacPherson officiating. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines. Donations in Raymond’s memory may be made to St. Margaret’s Church.
