PELKEY, BLANCHE ETHEL - Blanche Ethel Pelkey of Woodstock passed away at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton on Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at the age of 90. Born at Hawkshaw, York County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Burden and Hattie Etta (Stairs) McHatten. Blanche is survived by two sons, Wayne Pelkey (Pauline) and Lewis Pelkey (Jane), both of Woodstock; grandchildren Terri Ann Shaw (Brian) of Woodstock, Dr. Michael Pelkey (Tracey) of Halifax, and Paul Pelkey (Marisa) of Woodstock; two great grandchildren, Alicia and Bentley Shaw; and several nieces and nephews, including a favorite nephew, Floyd Stairs of Woodstock. Blanche was predeceased by her husband, Vernon Lile Pelkey; four brothers, Enoch, Ernest, Robert, and Perley McHatten; and four sisters, Elizabeth Saunders, Tressa Stairs, Erma Scott and Glenna Marston. Resting at the Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, with visiting on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m. from Scott Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Dale MacDonald will be officiating, with interment in the Wakefield Community Cemetery. www.scottfh.com
