VERNON PERCY LORD

LORD, VERNON PERCY - Peacefully at his residence in Lambertville NB on June 26, 2007, Mr. Vernon Percy Lord, husband of Mrs. Margaret Jean (Theriault) Lord. Born at Adam's Island NB on April 23, 1934 he was a son of the late Hazen and Bessie (Ricketts) Lord. A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, Vernon is survived by his wife Margaret, two sons; Wade (Stacey) Lord of Lambertville and Warren (Holly Winters) of Northen Harbour NB, two daughters; Germaine (Richard) Lord of Northern Harbour and Patricia (Danny) Wilcox of Pennfield NB, seven grandchildren, one sister; Virgina Lord of Lambertville and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Vernon was predeceased by his only brother, Asa Lord. Vernon was a fisherman and a former Captain of the Deer Island Ferry D.L. McLaren for over 20 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and swinging in his swing. His favourite saying was "Down the Road" which he could often be heard saying. Vernon was a well known and loved man and will be missed by all who knew him. Resting at the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St George NB with visiting on Wednesday at 1-4 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Fairhaven Community Cemetery at Calder's Head on Deer Island NB with Rev. Robert Meister and Rev. Maurice Hatfield officiating. In Vernon's memory donations to the NB Heart and Stroke or the Charlotte County Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
