WILLIAM BYRON McLEOD
McLEOD, WILLIAM BYRON - William Byron McLeod, son of the late Kenneth and Bernettea (Flemming) McLeod, passed away at the Verdun General Hospital on July 10, 2007 at the age of 74. He leaves to mourn his wife Audrey Mullin of 48 years; four children Kenneth (Lesley) of Whitby, Ontario, Sherry (Ramsey) Hislop of Vaudreil, Quebece, Tannis (Yves) Lamarche of Dorval, Quebec and Scott (Pina) of Oshawa, Ontario; eight grandchildren Kimberley and Ian McLeod, Kyle and Samantha Hislop, Jesse and Sara Lamarche and Megan and Lucas McLeod. He is also survived by his three sisters Mildred Shannon, Waterford, N.B., Elizabeth (George) O'Laughlin of P.E.I. and Ella McLeod of Penobsquis, N.B. as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Norman and sister Josephine Dunfield. William retired after 40 years with the Royal Bank of Canada. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Montreal, being a Lay Minister after retirement from the bank. He also held the position of Moderator for six years of the Quebec Baptist Federation. During his children's school years he served on the Lachine School Board, and for 20 years he and his wife Audrey did volunteer work at the Lachine Hospitals and Senior Homes. Funeral services will be at the Mount Royal Cemetery in Montreal on Tuesday, July 17th with visitation on Monday, July 16th from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Interment will be at a later date at the Pioneer Cemetery in Penobsquis, with a reception by his family home at 12258 Route 114 Penobsquis, N.B.
