WILLIAM ARTHUR WISHART

WISHART, WILLIAM ARTHUR - The death of William Arthur "Art" "Buzz" Wishart of Hampton, husband of Marjorie Wishart occurred July 29, 2007 at Ridgewood Veterans Wing, Saint John. He was born in Saint John, son of the late Benjamin and Blanche (Crowe) Wishart. Art was a veteran of WWII serving overseas in England, Italy, France, Holland and Belgium with 8th Princess Louise NB Hussars. He was employed with Bank of Nova Scotia for forty one years and resided in various communities before retiring in 1975. Art lived in Hampton since 1980. He was a member and served as treasurer for Hampton Branch 28 Royal Canadian Legion, The Corinthian Lodge #13, F. & A.M., Hampton Curling Club and Col. Gamblin Chapter 8th Canadian Hussars. Art was also a member of Hampton Golf Club. He received the Meritorious Service Award from Dominion Command of Royal Canadian Legion. Surviving besides his wife, Marjorie are one daughter, Marilyn Campbell (James), Rothesay; one son, Donald Wishart (Sarah), Halifax; one sister, Mildred Vanyperon, Saint John; one brother, Charles Wishart (Irene), Moncton; four grandchildren, David, Ben, Megan and Graeme; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Helen Kelly, Evelyn Bowland; and one brother, Eric Wishart. Resting at Reid's Funeral Home (832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, with visitation on Tuesday from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. The funeral will be held Wednesday, 11:00 am at Hampton United Church with Rev. Mary Wanamaker officiating. Interment in Hampton Rural Cemetery. Memorials to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated. A Legion tribute will be held Tuesday, 3pm, and a Masonic tribute will be held 6:45pm at the funeral home.
