SMITH, LILLIAN ALBERTA - The death of Lillian Alberta Smith, wife of the late George Hamilton Smith, occurred on August 17, 2007 at her residence, the Turnbull Home. Born in St. Martins, NB, she was the daughter of the late Gilford Elmore and Alberta (Davidson) McDonald. She resided in Saint John the majority of her life being the proprietor of the grocery store on the corner of Princess and Germain Streets. She was Anglican by faith and a former member of the Orange Lodge. She is survived by her brother, Roy (Joyce) McDonald; sisters, Inez King, Mildred Langille and Alma Gilchrist, all of St. Martins; and several nieces and nephews. Her brothers, Clifford and Eldon McDonald and sisters, Alice Brown, Muriel King, Mabel Washburn and Gladys Burchill predeceased her. Resting at Brenans Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), with visiting on Monday from 1:00 until 2:00 pm. followed by the funeral service at 2:15 pm from Brenan's Chapel.
