Darlene 'Doll' Bertha Trapp

1944 - 2008, Glace Bay Darlene ‘Doll’ Bertha Trapp, age 64, of Glace Bay passed away peacefully at home Friday, May 2, 2008 surrounded by her family and friends. Born in Glace Bay she was the daughter of the late William and Blanche (Reid) Young. Darlene resided with her loving daughter and caretaker, Ann Marie Morrison. Doll will be especially remembered for her kindness and her compassionate care taking toward others. She will also be remembered as a loving mother-figure to many. Darlene is survived by daughters, Ann Marie Morrison (Norman Donovan), Sandra Trapp, Yvonne Dean (Jackie) and special daughter, Mary Knox, all of Glace Bay. She is also survived by two stepsons, Steven and Rodney Trapp, Manitoba; sister, Dorothy Tarabalka, Manitoba; brother, John Reid (Irene); six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; special nephew, Robert Reid and many other nieces and nephews and extended family members, all of Glace Bay. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband, Henry Trapp; brother, Carl G. Reid; sisters, Josephine, Louise and Bertha. Visitation for Doll will be held Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Chaplain Mary Lou MacDougall officiating. Interment will be held at a later date.
