CHARLES ANDREW, BROWN - The death of Charles Andrew Brown occurred at the Carleton Kirk Lodge on Sept. 21 after a lengthy illness. Born in Saint John West on Sept 2, 1920, he was the son of the late George & Nellie Brown (Morrison). Charles was employed by the CP Railway for 37 years, retiring as Conductor. He was a member and past treasurer of Local 1217 UTU, past NB Legislative Chairman of the UTU, past Treasurer of Hillsborough Railroad, Past President of the Epworth Park Outing Association, former member of Westfield Golf & County Club and Carleton Curling Club. Charles is survived by his wife of 66 years, Florence (Peggy Swain); daughter, Sue; son, Phillip (Christin); grandson, Armstrong; and granddaughters, Elizabeth and Aldrin, Toronto; sisters-in-law, Katherine Powell, Frances Urquhart and Helen Boone; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Charles was predeceased by a son, Christopher, a brother, Gordon and sisters, Muriel and Pearl. At his request there will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Fallsview (634-1701). A celebration of Charles life will be held on Sept. 25 at 2:00pm at St. Jude's Church, 325 St. James St. West. Reception to follow at Fallsview Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers Charles requested that donations be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
