JAMES DONWORTH HEFFERNAN
HEFFERNAN, JAMES DONWORTH - The death of James Donworth Heffernan of Lonicera Hall, St. Stephen, N.B. occurred at Charlotte County Hospital on September 28, 2007. He was the son of the late James Donworth and Ellen Julia (Hurley) Heffernan. Jim was born in Milltown, N.B. on October 8, 1924 and was a descendant of four of the original Irish settlers in Milltown, N.B. He served overseas during World War II in No.6 Bomber Command RCAF and received several medals as a result. He was a retired Canadian Immigration officer and served in various locations in Canada and the USA. Jim will be greatly missed by all those who knew him especially his many friends of Milltown and his breakfast buddies on both sides of the border. He is survived by his very close friends, Moira, Chris, Patrick and Andrew Sherwood of St. Stephen; several cousins and many friends. He was predeceased by his parents; sisters, Mary Margaret and Eileen Frances; brothers, John Paul and M. Patrick. Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 1, 2007 at 10 AM at St.Stephens Catholic Church, Milltown Blvd., St. Stephen, N.B.with Father William Weiss officiating. Interment in Milltown Catholic Cemetery. There will be a reception following the interment at St. Patrick's Hall. There will be no visitation by request however, Royal Canadian Legion Branch #9 will conduct a tribute service on Sunday, September 30, 2007 at 7PM at the funeral home.
