64, Sydney, Truro We regret to announce the passing of Mary Margaret (Hoban) MacKenzie on May 7, 2008, at her home, in her 65th year. Childhood friend and loving wife of 42 years to David Hart MacKenzie; and devoted and loving mother to Catherine ‘Cathy’ (Gussie) Postlewaite, Sydney, Darlene (James) Davis, Hamilton, Bermuda, Corinnea (Jeff) McGuire, New Glasgow; sisters, Shirley (Hugh) MacKay, Shelburne, Joan (Garnet) McKay, Riverveiw, N.B., Tim (Betty) Hoban, Douglastown, N.B., Clifford Hoban, (Diane Jewells) Glace Bay; she is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Madison, Victoria, Alexander, Jakob, Brennan as well as several aunts, uncles nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Jennie (Thompson) Hoban. Visitation will be held Friday, May 9, at S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will take place 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 10, at St. Joseph Church, Sydney with Fr. Gerald Dunphy officiating. Interment to take place in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens. Reception to follow at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home. Mary’s battle with cancer has ended however a fight for a cure will go on. In lieu flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Run for the Cure. Many thanks to the VON, Palliative Care, and doctors in Truro for all their support and loving care.
