MYRA B. D'AOUST

D'AOUST, MYRA B. - Our beloved mother, Myra Bernice (Colwell) D'Aoust, wife of the late J.H.A.O. (Johnny) D'Aoust, departed this life at home at Jemseg, N.B. on Thursday, November 8, 2007. She was born in 1924, the daughter of the late Milton and Frances (Olmstead) Colwell. She will be sorely missed by her children; Catherine (Harold) of Bartholomew, N.B., Milton (Susan) and Allan (Karen) of Jemseg; and her grandchildren, John and Robb Wood, Nicole Laflamme, Danielle Connell, Emily and Catherine D'Aoust as well as Brennan and Hillary Casey and her great grandchildren, Maddie and Jim Wood and her nieces Dawn and Heather. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her older siblings Merville and Edrey. Myra was a graduate of Gagetown Grammer School, attended Dalhousie University and served in the Women's Division, RCAF from 1942 to 1945. She and her husband farmed in Jemseg and for over forty years she was a dedicated weaver with the world famous Loomcrothers of Gagetown. Myra was a charter member and then a life member of the Jemseg Women's Institute and the Queens County Historical Society and Museum, both of which she served faithfully. At her request there will be no visitation, however, there will be a private family funeral service at St. James Anglican Church on Monday, November 12, 2007 at 2:00 PM. Following the funeral service, the public is invited to attend a reception at the Jemseg Lion's Hall at 3:00 PM, to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her memory can be made to any organization of your choice. A private interment will be held at a later date.
