ZALOT, ANDREW ALBERT FANCIS "FRANK" - Andrew Albert Fancis "Frank" Zalot died on November 23, 2007 at the age of 63 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital after a sudden serious illness. Frank was born in Jaffa, Palestine in 1944 to Polish parents Anna Stepek and Stanislaw Zalot. Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by one aunt, Sophie Rzepka and one uncle, Janek Rzepka. He is survived by his wife, Mary Mersereau; his daughter, Anna; his son, Adam; and a step-son, Shadi El Baba of Kelona, BC; one cousin, Jan Rzepka of Langley, BC; his mother-in-law, Nel Mersereau of Bathurst, NB; four sister-in-laws, Teresa Mersereau of Ottawa, Ontario, Anne Haldemann of Cornwall, PEI, and Karen Mersereau of Carquet N.B and Beverly Demmings of Mirmachi; three brother-in-laws, Kurt Haldemann of Cornwall, PEI, Michael Mersereau of Mirmachi, NB, and Gerard Poulin of Caraquet, NB; three nephews, Andre Mersereau of Edmonton, AB, Jules Poulin of Caraquet, NB, and Hiew John Mersereau of Mirmachi, NB; and three nieces, Emie Haldemann of Ottawa, ON, Danielle Haldemann of Cornwall, PEI and Liana Claire Mersereau of Mirmachi, NB. His first career was as a naval officer stationed in Esquimalt, BC. Following this, Frank entered the business sector achieving success in a variety of endeavours. With his wife Mary, he established Oil Can Harry's drive through oil change business in Fredericton in 1998 with expansion to a second location in 2001. He was a member of the Fredericton Chamber of Commerce and Business Fredericton North Inc. Frank was a long time avid race car enthusiast, a keen outdoorsman with a passion for hunting, boating, and camping. Visitation will be held at York Funeral Home, Tuesday, November 27, 2007 between 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9 pm and Wednesday, November 28, 2007 from 2 to 4pm. A chapel ceremony will be held at the York Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at 7pm. A reception will follow the ceremony. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Cancer Society. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
