VICKERS, BURNS - Mr. Burns Vickers, husband of Margaret (Peggy) (Connolly) Vickers, of Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home, formerly of Air Force Crescent, Miramichi, passed away Thursday, December 6th at Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home at the age of 83. Born in Nelson Miramichi, he was the son of the late Albert and Emma Jane (Burns) Vickers. He was retired from Superior Propane and a member of St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Nelson Miramichi. Besides his wife, he is survived by six daughters, Carol Ann Hilchey (Sandy) of Miramichi, Emma Jane Harris (Frankie) of Miramichi, Betty Holland of Miramichi, Alice Vickers of Bathurst, Maurina Johnston (Randy) of Houston, Texas and Joan Soares (Tony) of Montreal, Quebec; seven sisters: Mary Gill of Ontario, Ella Mehan of Saint John, Sr. Alice Vickers of Saint John, Sr. Charlotte Vickers of Saint John, Sr. Margaret Vickers of Vancouver, BC, Joan Kachel of California and Alberta Abud (Philip) of Dalhousie; one brother, Gerald Vickers (Helen) of Saint John; sisters-in-law Monica Vickers, Marie Vickers, Mary Vickers and Sylvia Vickers; 13 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by four brothers, Bennie Vickers, William Vickers, Albert Vickers and Allan Vickers. Mr Burns Vickers will be resting at Davidson's Funeral Home, 597 Old King George Highway, Miramichi, with visitation Friday, December 7th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 am from St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Nelson Miramichi, with Father Jim McQuade officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery later in the spring. At the request of the family donations to Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home or a memorial of one's choice would be appreciated.
