EVELYN DOREEN RAMSAY (WALKER)
RAMSAY (WALKER), EVELYN DOREEN - The death of Evelyn Doreen Ramsay of New Maryland, NB formally of the Village of Gagetown occurred at home on December 8th, 2007. Evelyn was the wife of the late Herbert Ramsay. Predeceased by her Mother, Mable Mae; Father, John Henry; son, John Robert; one sister and two brothers. She is survived by two daughters, Dawn (Willie) of Red Deer, Alberta and Elizabeth (Michael) of New Maryland; daughter in law, Phyllis (Huxley); nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; three brothers; three sisters; several nieces, nephews, one aunt, uncle and several cousins. Evelyn was blessed having a best friend, Aline Meade and several dear and close friends. Nan's companion Dakota (family pet) will miss her. Evelyn served with pride in the Canadian Army during the WW II. She was a Life Member and Honorary President of the RCL #71. Member of the Gagetown Gems and was a chartered member of the River Road Lioness Club. Evie was very active in the community. The family settled in Gagetown in the early fifties. In 1972 Evelyn was the proprietor of Ev's Grocery. She was known and respected in the community and always had a hot cup of tea and kind words for those in need. Ev enjoyed speed skating at Lily Lake, dancing, bowling and BINGO. Evelyn was Mom to many. Resting at Oromocto Select Funeral Home, 108 Winnebago St, Oromocto. Visiting for the family Monday, December 10th from 7 to 9. Visitation December 11th 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Funeral Service to be held December 12th at 2:30 at the Grace United Church, Tilley Rd, Gagetown. Interment will take place at a later date.
