I. STEPHEN SMITH

SMITH, I. STEPHEN - Steve passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at his residence, after a long battle with cancer at the age of 55. He was the son of Shirley (Rockwell) and the late Rev. Lloyd Smith. He was the husband of Judy E. (Green) Smith (Sweet Pea) of 30 years and had worked at Point Lepreau as an Alara Coordinator and a Radiation Control Senior Technician. He will be missed by his many co-workers and friends. Stephen was a past member of Union Lodge of Portland #10, F. & A. M. and a member of Carleton Union Lodge # 8. He was also a member of Carleton Chapter #1, R.A.M., St. John Council #1 Select Masters and DeMolay Preceptory #4, and a member of the Luxor Shrine Temple and played in the Oriental Band. He was a member of the NB Foster Families Association and president of the Saint John Foster Families Association for many years. He loved music, was a beautiful guitar player and often played instruments, his favourite being his 12 string ovation. Whenever they get together, family and friends will greatly miss Steve and their jam sessions. Surviving in addition to his wife and mother, are his son, Clay; daughter, Amy; friend, April; a brother, Howard "Howie"; sister-in-laws, Carol (George) Vair and Patti Vaughan; Grandchildren, Mia, Jacob and Peter; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Besides his father, he was predeceased by his mother-in-law, Thelma and father-in-law, Hartley Green. Resting at Castle Funeral Homes, "Fallsview Chapel", 309 Lancaster Ave., (634-1701) visitation will take place on Wednesday, December 12, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday, December 13, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 14, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from the Church of the Good Shepherd. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Ext. Cemetery. Donations, in memory of Stephen, may be made to the Shriner's Hospital, NB Foster Families Association, Children's Wish Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice. www.castlefh.com
