
ALBERT DORAN HOOPER
HOOPER, ALBERT DORAN - Unexpectedly, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on December 31st, 2007, Mr. Albert Doran Hooper, husband of Mrs. Mildred Gertrude (Miner) Hooper of Pennfield NB. Born in Blacks Harbour NB on January 7, 1931, he was a son of the late Emery and Della (Hanley) Hooper. A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, he is survived by his wife, Mildred, one son; Robert Doran (Anne Grace) Hooper of Little Ridge NB, four daughters; Dorothy (Roland) Wilcox of Bocabec NB, Deborah Larson (Guy) of Pocologan NB, Marilyn (Ray) Lewis of Blacks Harbour and Shirley (Wayne) Waite of Pennfield NB, nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren, four brothers; Harold (Jean) Hooper of Utopia NB, Edward Hooper of Winchester ON, Joe (Barb) Hooper of Sussex NB and Richard (Lorraine) Hooper of Pennfield, two sisters; Audrey McLeese (Vance) of Winchester ON, and Thelma Scott (Carl) of Toronto ON, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Caitlin Lewis and two brothers, Clyde and Carroll Hooper. Albert began working in Ontario at Pilkington Glass and with the Toronto Transit Commission prior to moving home to Pennfield where he began work as a school bus driver for 17 years, retiring in 1991. Following his retirement, Albert enjoyed being a handyman and operating his snow removal business. He was a hard worker who loved bowling and hunting and was a great outdoorsmen. In his quiet times he enjoyed working on his truck and traveling to Calais ME for his weekly trips. In the mornings he could be found with the "morning club" at Hoopers Convenience, in Blacks Harbour, discussing the daily news and world events. Resting at the Wesleyan Church in Blacks Harbour from where the service will be held on Friday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Bruce Cheney and Pastor Gordon Cooke officiating. The interment will be held at the St. George Rural Cemetery at a later date. Visiting at the church on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. In Albert's memory donations to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation, Charlotte County Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
