MARY (MAYME) ELIZABETH MARGARET WALSH

WALSH, MARY (MAYME) ELIZABETH MARGARET - Passed away peacefully at Miramichi Hospital on December 29, 2007. She was the daughter of the late Elizabeth (Maloney) and Michael Walsh. She was predeceased by sisters Rachael, Mary Ellen (Nellie) Grattan (Regan), Irene Quinlan, Bridget (Gertrude) Quinlan; brothers James, Frank, Martin, Charles, Richard (Ignatius), Patrick and John. She loved outdoor sports and her family pets. Mary was a housekeeper for her father and later for her brother Martin. She belonged to the C.W.L. at St. Edward's Church. Upon her brother Martin's death, she moved to Newcastle in 1988. She was proud of her Irish Heritage and supported the Miramichi Irish Festival including Susan Butler's musicals. Visitation was held at Bell's Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial was concelebrated by Rev. Father James McQuade and Rev. Father Vincent Donovan at St. Edward's Roman Catholic Church, assisted by gentleman altar servers: David McMahon and Ray Woods. Soloists and organist were Susan and Mary Butler. Readers were Marie Walsh and John Quinlan, who also gave the eulogy. Pallbearers were Jonathan and Justin Walsh, Gordon Burns, Tim Saunders, Tony Johnston and Michael Walsh. Honorary pallbearers were Farrell McCarthy, Albert Walsh, Blair Bohan, John Quinlan, Kerry Casey and Edward Daley. Donations were received to St. Edward's Church and Cemetery Funds, St. Mary's Fund, Barrie, Ont., Cathedral Fund, Saint John, Holy Family Parish Fund, Hamilton, Ont., St. Mary's Fund, Miramichi, Heart and Stroke Foundation and to the School District 16 Scholarships Fund. Floral Tributes were received from family and friends, numerous Mass cards were received; including one from Rev. Father James McQuade and one from M.L.A. John Foran. Entombment took place at Parish Vault. Interment in the Spring at St. Edward's Cemetery, Chelmsford. A reception was held catered to by the St. Andrew's United Church and St. Edward's Church Ladies groups. Thanks to all who helped to make the celebration of Mary's life so special. God Bless.
