Brother Dominic William Pike died peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, on Friday April 11, 2008 at Stedman Community Hospice in Brantford, ON, at 67 years of age. Born August 31, 1940 on Woods Island, Nfld. Dominic was a devoted Christian Brother for 50 years, a teacher for 30 years in Newfoundland and western Canada, he ended his career as a Chaplain at John Noble Home in Brantford. He spent his life serving others and has touched many, many hearts along his journey. Survived by his siblings Bernard Pike (Vera), Rita Eliassen, Alma O’Quinn (Seth), Yvonne MacDonald, Evangeline Miles (John), Marion Biasutti (Giorgio), and by his sisters-in-law Flo Pike, Winnie Pike. Will be missed by many nieces and nephews, and many close friends. Predeceased by his siblings Mary Ellen Pike, Christopher Pike, Mark Pike and Ronald Pike. A Funeral Mass will be offered in the Chapel of St Joseph’s Motherhouse, on Tuesday April 15, 2008, at 11 am followed by interment at St. Augustine’s Cemetery, Dundas, Ontario.
