HAROLD PELKEY

PELKEY, HAROLD - of Aroostook passed away as the result of a motor vehicle accident which occurred at Sisson Brook, NB on January 13th, 2008. Born on November 1st, 1935, he was the son of the late Albert and Fern (McGuire) Pelkey. Besides his mother who lives in Perth-Andover, Harold is survived by his daughters, Terri (Alan) McLaughlin of Carlingford, Valerie Guimont and her companion John Innis of Grand Falls; his sons, Stephen (Marilyn) Pelkey of Grenfell, SK, Blair (Pierrette) Pelkey of Grand Falls, Ross Pelkey of Plaster Rock, Glenn (Veronica) Pelkey of Fredericton, Shaun (Shelley) Pelkey of Fredericton; sister, Rosanne Hatto (Jim) of Woodstock; his half-sisters, Ella Mae (Glen) Foley of Ohio, Vera Sullivan of Four Falls; his brothers, Gary (Linda) Pelkey of Aroostook, Jim (Dorothy) Pelkey of Four Falls, Dale (Georgie) Pelkey of Four Falls, Donald (Debbie) Pelkey of Perth-Andover, Graydon Pelkey of Perth-Andover, Murray (Susan) Pelkey of Hamilton, ON; his half-brothers Floyd (Laura) Pelkey of Carlingford, Edward (Marie) Pelkey of Fredericton, Paul (Bessie) Pelkey of Stoney Creek, ON; 18 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Harold was predeceased by his wife Gwendolyn Pelkey (Sisson); his sister, Margaret Rose Pelkey; his half-sisters, Maxine Spencer and Gertrude Pelkey; brothers, Gerald, Thomas, Arnold and Winston Pelkey, and his half-brother Vaughn Pelkey. Harold worked as a snowplow operator for the Departement of Transportation before his retirement. He was a Village Councilor and service as Deputy Mayor for many years in Aroostook. He enjoyed spending time at his camp on the Tobique River. Resting at St. James United Church in Perth-Andover with visitation on Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 17th, 2008 at 1 pm from the church with Rev. Helene Burns officiating. Interment will be in the Presbyterian Rural Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, donations to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or to St. James United Church Building Fund would be appreciated by the family.
