LORD, ELIZABETH - It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Elizabeth (Beth) Silliker Lord, as a result of a motor vehicle accident on January 12th, 2008. Born in Saint John, NB, Beth was the daughter of Robert and Lois Silliker of Kanata, Ontario. She graduated in 1974 from Sir James Dunn Academy, in St. Andrews, NB and in 1977 from the University of Western Ontario in London with a degree in music. In 1979 she attended UNB, where she received a degree in Education. Beth was a dedicated teacher in Bathurst, NB for the past 28 years. She brought the gift of music to children, a clever mind to math and literacy students, and a heart full of caring to everyone she touched. Throughout this time, she was active in local music festivals and choirs, and was involved with local and provincial figure skating organizations. Despite a busy professional life, Beth was first and foremost a loving wife and mother. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband Wayne and daughters, Lindsay (Daniel Doucet) and Kaitlyn. She is also survived by one sister, Shawn (David St. Jean); one brother, Larry (Lesley); and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service in Beth's memory was held on Thursday, January 17th, 2008, from First United Church, in Bathurst NB. Donations may be made in Beth's memory to The Beth Lord Memorial Scholarship Fund at any CIBC bank branch or a favourite charity.
