BATES, JEAN BEATRICE - The death of Jean B. (Ganong) Bates, age 86, occurred at the Dr. V. A. Snow Centre, Hampton, NB, on Friday, February 15, 2008. She was the wife of the late Frank Bates and the daughter of the late Tom and Ada (Provan) Ganong. She is survived by three sons, Donald Bates (Pierrette Ricard) of Cole Harbour, NS, Richard and Linda of Kiersteadville, NB, Bob and Janice of Kiersteadville; four daughters, Linda and Bill Pollock of Edmonton, AB, Leah and Dale Urquhart of Erb's Cove, NB, Ann and Paul Ukrainetz of Insigner, SK, Joan Kelly and Roy Olive of Hampton, NB; seventeen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Lu Ganong of Bloomfield, NB; several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her parents; husband; brothers, Roy and Harold Ganong; granddaughter, Jennie Bates. Resting at Sherwood's Funeral Home (839-2156) 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, with visitation on Monday from 2 to 8 pm. Funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, February 19, 2008, from Kiersteadville Baptist Church, Route 850, Kiersteadville, NB. Interment will take place in the Kiersteadville Cemetery in the spring.
