CHARLES WILLIAM ALEXANDER (1942-2008) LONDON
LONDON, CHARLES WILLIAM ALEXANDER (1942-2008) - It is with sadness that the family of Charlie London, 65, of Saint John, announces his passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital on February 15, 2008, after a brief but tragic illness. Born in Saint John, N.B. on September 25, 1942, Charlie was the son of the late Charles and Mae (Richard) London, and the husband of Patricia Ann (Kerr) London. Charlie was a faithful employee of Canada Post for over 30 years, retiring in 2002, preceded by dedicated service to the offices of Saint John Shipbuilding and NB Housing. He was a member of the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes (RAOB). In his spare time, Charlie enjoyed being the cook at the hunting camp, fishing, bowling, playing darts, and sharing a good laugh with his large extended family and close friends. In addition to his wife, Pat; Charlie is survived by his son, Chris (Nadine Mullin) of Saint John; and daughter, J. Ashley (Randy) MacNeill of Grove Hill. He is beloved Papa to grandchildren, Justin Dalling (Ashley Rioux) and Aidan and Natalie London. Also survived by three brothers, Edward (Donna), Frederick (Joyce) and Wayne (Kathy Scovil); and eight sisters, Norma (Fred) Gilliland, Jean (Ian) Lamont, Frances (George) Lamont, Donna (Sholly) Mills, Ann (Doug) Foster, Janice (Gary) Ross, Gail (John) Ross, and Wanda (Eric Lawlor) London; and brother-in-law, Donald Geldart. Predeceased by an infant sister, Theresa; and an older sister, Shirley Geldart. His songs and warm laughter will be fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews. Following cremation, visitation will be at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd. (506-646-2424) on Monday, February 18, 2008, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, February 19, 2008, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at 3 p.m., followed by a reception.
