DAY, FLORENCE T. - The death of Florence Day, formerly of Abbie Place, Saint John, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 22nd, 2008 at St. John and St. Stephen Nursing Home. She was born on May 11th, 1922 in Saint John to the late Charles Tilley and Salome Anne (McAfee) Maxwell. Florence worked as an accountant for Simonds Canada Saw Company, until her retirement. She was a member of Westfield Golf and Country Club, St. Marks United Church and the Carleton Choristers. Florence is survived by one sister, Ethel Phillips of Saint John and a niece and several nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Edward A. Day; three sisters, Hazel Sprague, Rachel MacDonald and Grace Russell and two brothers, Robert and Herbert Maxwell. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425). In lieu of visitation, the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 26th, 2008 at 2 pm from Brenan's Bay View Chapel. Interment in Fernhill Cemetery following the funeral service.
