NICKERSON, FOLTON VICTOR - After his 2 year battle with cancer, Folton Victor "Nick" Nickerson of Quispamsis passed away peacefully at home, Monday, February 25th, 2008. He will be sadly missed by Susan of Quispamsis; sons, Blantford, Kevin (Colleen) both of Saint John; Terry, of Upper Greenwich and Bobby (Melissa), of Nerepis; daughter, Denene (Blair); sisters, Valerie Nickerson (Emery) and Coral Brennan (Bob), both of Saint John; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; special friends, Lawson and Darlene Tufts and special caregiver, Jane Nelson of Quispamsis. Nick was born 1932, in Cape Sable Island, N.S and was raised by Ellen and Wallace Nickerson. In earlier days; Nick was a fisherman, later becoming a diesel mechanic for Smith's Transport. In the eighties he worked at the Saint John Dry Dock as a pipefitter. Nick was an owner and operator for Sunbury Transport Trucking, later retiring in 1998. In his leisure time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and going to the trailer at Riverside Rentals. He was predeceased by his first wife, Rosemond in 1994; brothers Seaward, Blantford, Trueman and Weldon and sisters, Vera, Leora and Netta. Resting at the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd. (646-2424) with visitation on Thursday, February 28th, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, February 29th, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Fernhill Cemetery.
