NEWMAN, JEAN - The death of Jean Newman occurred at Extendicare Nursing Home, in Kingston, Ontario on February 25, 2008. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Allison and Marjorie (Land) Jones of Pointe du Chene, N.B. She is survived by daughters Carol (Doran) McWhirter and Linda (Jim) Millar of Ontario, sister Irene (Stanley) Holmes of Saint John, plus grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Jean attended Moncton High School and was an adherent of the United Church. Predeceased by husband, Walter Newman, brothers Ronald, Robert and Ivan Jones. The funeral was held at Gordon F. Tompkins Funeral Home, 49 Colborne Street, Kingston. Burial will take place at Cedar Hill Extension in Saint John at a later date.
