THORNE, HELEN - Mrs. Helen Thorne of the Kiwanis Nursing Home passed away at the residence on March 26, 2008 at the age of 100. Born in Sussex she was the daughter of the late Frank and Bessie (Long) Sprague and was the wife of the late Roland Thorne who passed away in 1997. Helen is survived by two daughters, Eva Palmer (Cameron) of Sussex Corner; Jean Grice of Sussex; two sons, Frank (Melba) of Roachville, Roland Jr. (Margaret) of Sudbury, Ontario; ten grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; her daughter-in-law, Joyce Thorne of Sussex, four sisters-in-law, Margaret Sprague of Lower Millstream, Christina Sprague of Sussex, Margaret (Peggy) Sprague of Sussex and Anne Sprague of California; Helen was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is predeceased by three sisters, Emma, Margaret, Grace, five brothers, Richard, Gordon, Ronald, Ralph and Harold; and a grandson Jeff. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where visitation will be held on Friday form 7-9pm. A Celebration of Helen's life will be held from Calvary Pentecostal Church on Saturday March 29th 2008 at 11:00am with the internment in Roachville Cemetery.
