VERNON FRANK MCLEOD

MCLEOD, VERNON FRANK - It is with great sadness we announce the death of Vernon Frank McLeod of Grand Bay-Westfield, loving husband of Margaret (Kiley) McLeod, which occurred on April 4, 2008 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in 1926 in Hoyt, N.B., he was the son of the late John and Gladys (Byers) McLeod. Vernon was a member of CUPE Local 18 serving as Secretary Treasurer for six years and was a piper with the Caledonia Pipe Band for many years. He retired as General Foreman of Supply and Services for the City of Saint John in 1988. He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Regiment during World War II. Besides his wife Margaret of 60 years, he is survived by daughters, Debbie Ingalls (Leonard) of Grand Manan, Pam Dunham (Ron) and Paula Gault (Bruce) both of Grand Bay-Westfield; sister, Viola Oliver of Grand Bay-Westfield; grandchildren, Krista Simpson (Tony), Jeff Dunham (Angela) and Sarah Gault all of Grand Bay-Westfield; Ryan Gault of Edmonton; Michael Ingalls (Joanne) and Greg Ingalls (Erica) both of Grand Manan; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Tristan and Jenna Simpson; Zoe and Olivia Ingalls; and Emily and Rebecca Dunham; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by granddaughter, Kelly Ann Ingalls; brothers, Thomas, Norman and Ronald McLeod; and sister, Helen McLeod. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Sunday April 6th, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Veterans Tribute to take place Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Augustine's Catholic Church in Grand Bay-Westfield on Tuesday April 8th, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
