BELL, RAY W. (1923 - 2008) - The elder son of Wilbert Ray Bell and Florence Hazel (Bell) Bell, Ray grew up in that part of Oakville known now as Jackson Falls. He was educated at the Oakville school and Carleton County Vocational School. On marriage to Fern Clark in 1950 he removed to Woodstock, while continuing to farm at Oakville in partnership with his father under the business style of Wilbert R. Bell & Son. On his father's retirement Ray took up Christmas tree farming, an activity he loved. Recently he had the honour of supplying a tall tree for Government House, Fredericton. He retired from the trees in 2005. For many years he was scoutmaster at St. Luke's church, Woodstock. For four decades he served as layreader in the parish. Besides his wife, Fern, he is survived by son, David of Jackson Falls; daughter, Heather Foster of Lower Wakefield; grandsons, Timothy Foster and Gregory Foster of Lower Wakefield; and brother, Paul and his wife, Doreen Bell of Cochrane, Alberta. Visitation on Saturday, April 26, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. from The Culberson Funeral Home, 188 Connell Street, Woodstock, NB. Funeral services to be held on Sunday, April 27, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. from St. Luke's Anglican Church with Archdeacon Walter Williams presiding, assisted by the Rev. Christopher Hayes.
