POWELL, MARJORIE EDNA - 83, Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home, and formerly of Petitcodiac, passed away at her residence on April 29, 2008. Born in Anagance, she was a daughter of the late Kilgour and Mary (Middleton) Smith. Marjorie was the wife of the late Gerard Powell. She was a member of the Petitcodiac United Baptist Church, the Petitcodiac Senior Citizens, and a life member of the Women's Institute, and the Helen Hahan W.M.S. Marjorie is survived by her daughters, Linda (Fernand) Dubois of Winnipeg, MB, and Joyce (Stuart) Saunders of Petitcodiac; her brother, Arthur Smith of Anagance; three grandchildren, Shane Sleep (Darren Pallen), Petitcodiac, Dan Dubois and Carly Saunders (Drew Miller), Ottawa, ON; two great-grandchildren, Jeremy & Chelsey Sleep, Petitcodiac; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Marjorie was predeceased by her sisters, Edith Fawcett, Lois Woodard and Gladys Trites; her brothers, Gerald Smith, and Ray Smith. Visitation will be held on Friday May 2, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm in Armstrong's Funeral Home; a funeral service will be held on Saturday May 3, 2008 at 11 am with Rev. Gordon Cooke officiating in the Petitcodiac Baptist Church. Interment will be held in Maplewood Cemetery. Donations to the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
