BRIGGS, DOROTHY VIOLET - Dorothy Violet Briggs, 90, of Bath, NB, passed away on Monday, May 5, 2008 at the Riverview Manor, Bath, NB. Dorothy was born in West Glassville, NB, on January 2, 1918, daughter of the late Amos and Jennie (Wharton) Darrah. Dorothy is survived by son, Gary (Jean), Bath, NB; daughter, Marilyn Dawson (John), Slave Lake, AB; grandchildren, Paul Briggs (Angela), Musquodoboit, NS, Karen Briggs (Wes Nadieau), Slave Lake, AB, Diane Dawson, Athabasca, AB; great grandchildren, Leaha, Seth; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Earl; grandson, Neal; three sisters, and a brother. Dorothy was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Visitation will be held at the Fielding Baptist Church on Thursday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Funeral service will be held on Friday, from Fielding Baptist Church at 2 PM. Interment will be in the Wharton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Gideon's.
