THOMAS JOSEPH STAUFFER
STAUFFER, THOMAS JOSEPH - Thomas Stauffer of Saint John died peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on May 11, 2008. Born on December 4, 1931 in Flint, Michigan to Thomas and Alma (Williams) Stauffer. He was brought up in London, Ontario and moved to Saint John in 1963. Tom worked at Sommerville Industries, Wayside Industries, Consolidated Bathurst, Maritime Paper and CBC Radio. He was an avid hunter and fisher and belonged to the Atlantic Salmon Federation, Hammond River Association and Balls Lake Fishing Club. "Never met a person who didn't like or respect Tom". Survived by his wife, Violet (Collins); son, Thomas (Theresa) of Quispamsis; daughter, Linda (Fred) Sherwood of Saint John; four grandchildren, Ann Marie, Jennifer, Ryan and Matt; three great-grandchildren, R.T., Jacob, and Lydia; two brothers, James (Lorraine) Stauffer of Florida and Watrous (Nancy) Stauffer of London, Ontario. Resting at the Cavanagh Funeral Home, 91 Leinster Street (634-1712) from where the funeral service will be held on Thursday May 15th at 11:00 am. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Due to allergies, no flowers by request. Donations to New Dawn Community or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
