BONIN, MONIQUE MARIE - After a four year courageous battle with cancer, Monique Bonin, devoted wife of Mike, of Saint John passed away on Wednesday May 21, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1969 in Saint John to Louisa M. Fournier of Saint John. Monique grew up in Saint John and graduated from Simonds High School. She worked for the Canadian Red Cross as a Lead Coordinator from 1996 up until she was diagnosed in 2004. Devoted wife, mother, sister, cousin and friend Monique whole-heartedly enjoyed life to the fullest. She was much involved in her community as a part of the Home and School, the Hot Lunch Program, The East Suburban Little League and involved with the Saint John Minor Hockey. Besides her mother and husband, Mike of 23 years, Monique is survived by her two children, son, Mitchell Alexander and daughter, Maddison Victoria both at home; mother-in-law, Gladys Bonin (Stan); brother-in-law, who was like her brother, Greg Bonin (Sherry); nephew, Kurtis; uncle Donat, all of Saint John; special cousin who was like her sister, Joanne Fournier (Mark) and their children, Shane and Sara of Edmonton, AB; best friends, Kim Rowe and Audrey Flynn of Saint John; and many, many close friends. Monique was predeceased by her grandparents, Charlotte and Alphee Fournier and her father-in-law, Ted Bonin. Visitation will be held at the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd. (646-2424) with visitation on Thursday and Friday May 22nd and 23rd from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Liturgy will be held from the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception, 91 Waterloo St. on Saturday May 24th, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
