GONZALES, RICARDO - The death of Ricardo Gonzales occurred on Saturday June 21, 2008 at The Saint John Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born 1945 in the Philippines he was the son of Andrea (Magat) Gonzales and the late Reynaldo Gonzales. Ricardo worked as a Chemist at Point Lepreau Nuclear Generating Station. Besides his mother, Ricardo is survived by his loving wife, Leonila (Canlas) Gonzales; son, John Richard Gonzales (Julie Gonzales) of Moncton; daughter, Beverlee Jane Gonzales (Shane MacDonald) of Saint John; sisters Natividid and Perla Gonzales both of the Philippines and sister-in-law Medy Ramos; two nieces, Maribel Ramos and Grace Johnston; and two nephews, Jessie Ramos and Leon Johnston. Besides his father, Ricardo was predeceased by one brother, Santiago Gonzales. Ricardo was known to all as a hard-working, wise, and gentle man, who always put the needs of his family far above his own. A man of strong faith, Ricardo will be greatly missed by his family. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, (646-2424) with visitations being held on Monday June 23rd and Tuesday June 24th from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Joachim's Catholic Church on Wednesday June 25, 2008 at 11:00 am. Following cremation interment will be held on Thursday June 26, 2008 at Fernhill Cemetery at 10:30 am. At Ricardo's request partial cremains will be returned to the family plot in the Philippines.
