WHITE, MAJOR HARVELLE EDWARD (RET'D) - The death of Harvelle White occurred on Wednesday, June 25th, 2008 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born April 24th, 1945 to the late Kenneth H. White of Bathurst, NB and Louise A. (Lyons) White of Millbank, NB. Harvelle is survived by his wife of 35 years, Colleen (Kenny) White of Fredericton, NB; brother, Kenneth J. White (Susan) of Niagara Falls, ON; sisters, Diana V. Tikkanen (George) of Vancouver, BC and Sandra E. Millar (Gordon) of Tampa, FL; brother-in-law, James H. Kenny (Linda) of Bathurst, NB and sister-in-law, Kathryn Hicks (Eric) of Fredericton, NB. He will be sadly missed by his nieces, and nephews and their spouses, Uncle to John, David, Cynthia, Andrew, Richard, Ross, Faye, Heather, Amy, Scott and Peter. Born in Bathurst, NB, he graduated from Teachers College and St. Thomas University in 1968. He was an avid lover of sports, and was a member of the Tommie's defense corps. He was also a member of the 1971 Alpine Papermakers Canadian Intermediate "A" champions. He joined the Canadian Armed Forces in July of 1971 and served with The Lord Strathcona's Horse (Royal Canadians) in Calgary retiring in 1992. After his military career Harv worked for Emergo Canada and The Corps. of Commissioners as Director of Operations. There will be no visitation by request, a memorial service will be held at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home on Monday, June 30th, 2008 at 11:00 am with a reception to follow.
