GRETA DOROTHY CORRIGAN
CORRIGAN, GRETA DOROTHY - Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on June 27, 2008 at the age of 90, Mrs. Greta Dorothy Corrigan (Gilbert) of Charlo, wife of the late Cecil Patrick Corrigan. Born in Fredericton on November 15, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Frank I. Gilbert and the late Anne Britney. Greta was a WWII veteran and served with the Canadian Women Army Corps in Ottawa and Monteal. Married in 1947 in Montreal then moved to Dalhousie with her husband Cecil, Greta was in her 90th year and lived independently in her home until her death. She was a member of St. John Bosco Church in Dalhousie. She leaves to mourn her six sons: Edward of Charlo, Phillip (Gwen) of Dalhousie, Francis (Gisèle) of Charlo, Freddy (Lynn) of Charlo, Gilbert (Peggy) of Dalhousie and Allan (Nicole) of Campbellton, her only surviving sister Barbara Gilbert of Montreal. Also survived by 17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, three nieces and two nephews. Predeceased by her sisters Mary (Brown) and Ellen Cameron and brother Joe Gilbert. The funeral mass was held from St. John Bosco Church Dalhousie on Monday June 30th at 11am. Father William Arseneaut officiating. Interment at the Parish Cemetery. Pallbearers were Shawn Corrigan, Leigh Corrigan, Troy Corrigan, Matthew Corrigan, Jeff Fenton and Ronnie Brown. Strength of character and independent wisdom, a zest for life, an inspiration to all who knew her, a life lived to the fullest. She will truly be missed by all. Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Dalhousie.
