McMACKIN, MICHAEL GEORGE - The saddening news of Michael McMackin's death came on August 4th, 2008, after a year of battling leukemia. He was born on February 18, 1958 in Newcastle, NB and graduated from Kennebecasis Valley High School in 1976. Employed by the Bank of Nova Scotia, for three years, he joined CNR in 1979 and continued with them until his death. He is survived by his wife Holly (nee Payne); his parents, Chester and Esther McMackin, Hampton, NB and a sister, Anne MacIsaac (Ian), Halifax. He is father to three daughters, Racare Danaher (Peter), Sarah Price (Shane), and Jessica McMackin, Saint John, NB. He has two granddaughters, Sylvia and Sophia Price. His PEI in-laws, Betty and Evans Payne, Carl (Michelle), Eric (Seanna), Neil (Janet) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife Carolyn. A member of Vineyard Church, Michael was a faithful believer in God and practiced the principles of Christianity all his life. A self made musician, he was very talented in Drumming, Piano, Organ and Guitar playing. With a great sense of humour, he was always a source of entertainment among his multitude of friends, who represented all facets of life. Resting at Reid's Funeral Home (832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton with visitation Tuesday 7-9pm and Wednesday 2-4pm and 7-9pm. The funeral will be held from the Vineyard Church, Quispamsis, NB on Thursday commencing at 10:00am. Interment in Hampton Rural Cemetery.
