MORRIS FRANCIS ELWARD

ELWARD, MORRIS FRANCIS - Morris "Moe" Elward of Saint John devoted husband of Margaret "Betty" (Akerley) Elward passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on August 5, 2008 at the Loch Lomond Villa. Born 1932 in Saint John to the late Arthur and Emma (Arsenault) Elward. Morris was an air traffic technician for the Royal Canadian Air force, later joining the Fire Department in Saint John, with over 17 years of service. He also worked with the Corps Commissionaire. Devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend he was a member of All Saints Anglican Church. He enjoyed traveling and camping especially on their trips to Florida and spending time with family and friends. Besides his wife Betty of 47 years he is survived by son, David M. Elward (Michelle); daughter, Susan Cole (James) all of Saint John; and grandchildren, Chelsea, David R. and Michael Elward and Jamie and Christina Cole. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Besides his parents, Moe was predeceased by eight brothers, Donald, Kenneth, Paul, David, James, Peter, Manley and Raymond; five sisters, Marie, Joan, Bernice, Leatrice and Bertha. Resting at the Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Rd. (646-2424) with visitation on Thursday August 7th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Friday August 8, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
