MCGOVERN, DONALD - Donald Paul McGovern of Saint John devoted husband of Brenda (Spray) McGovern, passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday August 9, 2008 surrounded by his family. Born 1946 in Saint John to the late Laura Leslie (Eccles) and Walter Leo McGovern. Donald was a mechanic for the Department of Transportation and Waste Management. A member of the Order of Eastern Star, Saint John Chapter # 14 and the Masonic Temple Saint John Lodge #2. Donald is survived by his wife Brenda of 36 years, sons, Steven Bruce Galbraith of Saint John and Kent Douglas McGovern of Barrie, ON; daughter, Heather Joyce Ferrar (Mark) of Barrie, ON; brother, William McGovern (Inez); sisters Marjorie Gatien and Kathleen Biddiscombe (Earl) all of Saint John; seven grandchildren and one great grandson; mother-in-law, Gladys Spray of Saint John; several nieces, nephews and many friends. Resting at the Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Rd. (646-2424) with visitation on Monday, August 11th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday August 12, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to take place at Fernhill Cemetery.
