JANES, GORDON D. - On August 7, 2008 in Goose Creek, S.C., U.S.A.. Born in Saint John February 1945, Gordon was the son of the Late Gordon W. and Evelyn Janes (Burke). Gordon served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War stationed onboard the Aircraft Carrier U.S.S. Intrepid. His many talents took him from coast to coast around the world. He was a master of many trades from plumbing and heavy equipment to explosives and diesel mechanics. His favourite pastime was fishing, Fresh or Saltwater, he was happiest when he was wetting a line. Gordon is survived by his wife Raelene, one daughter Christene (N.H.), two sons Sean (Mass.) and Scott (S.C.), several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Also survived by his brother Walter (Tony) of Ottawa. Predeceased by his parents, first wife Denise, sisters Laurie Ann, Ellen Gay (Cardone) and brother Gary. Service was held from the Henry Stuhr Funeral Home, Charleston, S.C. with cremation following. Remembrances in Gordon's name to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Children's Wish Foundation requested by the family.
