KEEN, JOAN "ANNE" KATHLEEN - Joan "Anne" Keen of St. George passed away peacefully on September 16, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, aged 96. Born in Kent, England August 28, 1912, she was the daughter of the late George and Agnes (Bilton) Mobsby. Anne and her husband, Fred, with their two young children, moved to Canada in 1953 where Fred worked for the City of Edmonton until his retirement in 1975. Upon Fred's retirement, they re-settled in Cornwall, England. Anne returned to Canada in 1991, living in both Saint John and St. George. She is survived by her son Ian Keen (Reina) of Prince George, BC and daughter Veronica "Ronnie" Cousins (Ed) of St. George, NB; grandchildren Melinda Keen (Ken Pokolinski) and Christopher Keen (Marit Shearer), both of Calgary, AB; Joel Cousins of Saint John, NB and Heather Stubbert (Pat) of Dartmouth NS; and three great grandchildren, Grace, Lily and Benjamin; nephew Richard Dudman of Swansea, Wales and niece Rosemary Lowe of Brighton, England. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Frederick John Keen in 1977 and her only sister, Lucie Dudman in 1994. Arrangements have been entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Rd. (646-2424). By Anne's request there will be no visitation or funeral service. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. Donations in memory of Anne can be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital where exceptional care was provided to Anne.
